I’m curious–why do you think the ending was sad?

Sometimes my memories of books read long ago have a nostalgic turn, and I forget the unhappier parts. But I just re-read this one, and it seemed to me that everything ended pretty positively for the main characters. (Not for John Andre, of course. But most readers probably knew that already.)

So it makes me curious! What did you think was sad?

I kind of stumbled on this blog post today, so sorry about the late reply. I loved the series (what I could find of it) as a kid, and I’ve written up a fan page about the series, taking its alternative universe as a serious study. You may find a surprise or two there!

Sorry Mr. Goodman but your link did not take me to “The Forgotten Door” as your input suggested. It did however take me to “No, No, Not Rogov!”, which I read and enjoyed. Thanks for that sci-fi shot story. I will continue to look for it and if there was a mistake on your part as far as the link, I would be grateful if you wouldn’t mind re-posting it. I too read that small TT book when I was in the 5th or 6th grade as a child close to your age..
